PGA2500 HPF?

Hi!

Sorry for being a complete newbie, my question will probably be totally amateurish. I'm building a digital-output preamp based on the PGA2500 and PCM4204. I would need to insert an adjustable 12 dB/octave high-pass filter between the preamp and the ADC. I've never done an active differential HPF and couldn't set your filter-desi1gner application to this design either. Do you have any recommendation for how this preamp's output should be filtered? Thanks a lot!

    Hi Andor,

    In the typical/general microphone PGA2500+PCM4204 application, a passive anti aliasing low-pass filter is used to connect the PGA2500 to the ADC.    The PGA2500 datasheet provides examples on the anti-alias filter on pages 13 and 14.  At the inputs of the PGA2500, DC blocking capacitors are used to block the Phantom power of the condenser mic.

    If you please let us know the details of the application, what type of microphone is connected at the inputs of the PGA, and provide the filter requirements of your design, where the high pass filter is required, we could provide some suggestions.    FilterPro provides options to design a Fully-differential high pass filter given a set of specifications.   Are you using FiterPro or which filter-designer application are you trying to set up?

    Thanks! I user the Webench software, as the FilterPro doesn't run on Linux. But I will use that one, then! Best Regards,
