request for PurePath Studio for TLV320AIC3254 evaluation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254, TLV320AIC3254EVM-K

For a customer project, I'd like to evaluate the TLV320AIC3254. Usage scenario is AES/AEC for a hands-free station.

I ordered and received the "TLV320AIC3254 Evaluation Module (EVM) and USB motherboard" (http://www.ti.com/tool/tlv320aic3254evm-k), but unfortunately, the required software was not included in the package.

Therefore I requested the PurePath Studio from http://www.ti.com/tool/aicpurepath_studio. Twice in the last few weeks, to be precise, but without reaction so far. Time for the evaluation is running out, so I have to discard the codec as unusable in the very near future...

To the the TI employees in this forum: Is there any other way to get the PurePath Studio?

BTW, may I suggest to strongly reconsider the on-request-only status of the PurePath studio? I'd call this questionable, to be polite...

  • Hi, Andreas,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. After checking into it, it turns out we had a problem in one of our systems which was keeping the requests from coming thru. The problem has now been resolved, and you should have been approved.

  • Hi, Andreas,

Did you get the approval email yet? We fixed the problem on our end (it entailed "dirty data" haha).

  • Sorry, missed your post.

Yes, I've got access to the software by now, after a short email conversation with one of your colleagues asking for the background.

BTW, had a bit of a rough start with the EVM, as I had to program the USB motherboard (USB-MODEVM) first using one of the provided DFU images, which was a bit unexpected. Simply as the hardware package came complete, without any leaflet saying "program the USB motherboard first" and nothing stated in the public documentation. After scratching my head over various error messages when attaching the EVM combo, I digged through the PurePath Studio included documentation and found the "firmware programming guide" in the USBFirmware folder, which described the steps. May I suggest to included a paper note into the evaluation kit or state it more prominently (resp. at all) in the TLV320AIC3254EVM-K users guide (SLAU264A)?

    Best regards,
      Andreas
