Hello, i am building an amplifier with this chip for a car. It will be configured as single ended output and powered at 50V.

I have some unclarities :

In the datasheet for single ended output there are no bulk caps on the 50v rail in that schematic,  are they not necessay in this config?

Can i route  the +12v (GVDD) on the power plane(this is a separate layer that is all for the +50v rail)? or there will be interference  transmited  ? I have the decoupling caps placed directly on the GVDD pins.

The 470uF caps forming the virtual ground for each output , can they be 1000uF? I am having trouble finding  caps that can handle 2amps (for 70w output ) at this capacity. Also, souldn't their voltage rating be 63v?

    Welcome to e2e! I see this is your first post.

    The TAS5615 is NRND - we have a notice in the Product Folder that says:

    So, I suggest you look at TAS5613A or TAS5630B for your design.

    You need adequate bulk decoupling for your design. It is even more important in single-ended output operation as you lose PSRR due to being SE and not BTL.

    For routing, we always suggest you copy the EVM as closely as possible.

    Yes, you can use larger caps for the virtual ground. Since the caps only see half the operating voltage, you don't need to use 63V ones. For the TAS5630B, for example, we show 50V ones in the diagram.

    By the way, it is quite difficult to eliminate all pops and clicks in single-ended output mode. BTL is much better.

  • thank you for your quick reply . This is   a completely diy project and i do not have access to factory grade pcb so i have to improvise . 

    I did made a 2 sided pcb one of wich is a ground plane, as i understood , grounding is critical, but as i am unable to use tipical vias i couldn't copy the evm and had to make some compromises.

     As for the pops  and clicks  i assume you are refering to those that appear at startup/shutdown,  maybe i'll implement a delayed coupling of the outputs  via some relays, i'll just have to decide once i'll hear them  in real life.
