Evaluation Board of pcm3168

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3168

Hi Everyone!

Q1) Where can I get the evaluation board of pcm3168?

I will make the board of ADC/DAC(6ch) board with bulk transfer interface by referencing it.

I have already ckecked it in Digi-key and mouser, but there is no evaluation board.

  • Shiggy,

Unfortunately we do not have any EVMs available for this device.

  • Hello. I'm new to working with both the PCM3268A and also working with I2S.  My plan is to connect this chip to a Silicon Devices CP2114 evaluation board.  The CP2114 (in case you don't know) is an excellent USB interface for I2S devices.  The one I'm getting comes with a Texas Instruments PCM1774EK codec board which has a single stereo in and a single stereo out plus several onboard I2S ports.  Without a development board, I'm not sure how hard it is for me to get the chip up and running.  I'm in a little over my head allready and I wish I could get past having to make my own board.  I understand that I will also have to program the chip to handle the different codec? I haven't made it through the data sheets enough yet to find out exactly which codec the PCM3268 uses.  Unless of course, the term "PCM3268" is actually the name of the codec, which I think it might be.

I'm pretty sure I can pull off soldering the 64 pins, but I don't have the greatest confidence that I can design my own board layout for it and get it right the first time.  ISince there is no development board, are there are popular schematics around that have proven themselves useful?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
