Active Noise Cancellation

hello

I'm using Pure Path (portable audio) v 5.95 rev 17483 libirary build 6184 , I'm using TLVAIC3254 codec with miniDSP, and i'm working on a  telephone design, actually the example process flows gives an ANC example and ENC but i couldnt get the idea of how to use those in my design

my Flow is as flows Decimator 4 x (two outputs)-->interprocessor A o D (two o two) --> interpolator 8x(two inputs)

i tried nvar (Multiband Noise Reduction) it gives nice results but i want to know is there a more recommended method fo both handset mode and handsfree mode??

  • Haitham,

All the information we have is included in the PPS installation. There should be a folder with app notes in it. Please check to see if there is any further info there to help you.

  • Don,

Actually i have a working codec script now in which i used the configuration in the diagram below,

i have a constant background noise in my calls and

i guessed that the right block to use is ANC or ENC

i tried to understand how to use  ANC  or ENC components in my configuration below but i couldn't,

the PPS installation folder contains only app notes for Multiband noise reduction and AEC

i'll be grateful if you told me how to cancel the noise i'm having using one of TI algorithms

    Thanks,

  • Hi, Haitham,

Is the noise in your system caused by pick-up from a microphone, or is it system noise? If it's system noise, you ought to be able to eradicate that from your system.

  • Hi, Haitham,

It also seems like your PurePath Studio is very out of date.

You should go download the latest one from pps.ext.ti.com

  • Hi, Don,

i'm using the latest pps version and i have this constant background noise with the configuration in the image up.

acyually it's not a mic noise it's only coming from the speaker side when i increase the volume level using register 16  page 0 (HPL gain register) the SNR degrades,

that's why i was asking how to use the component ANC whose inputs are four with my analog flow? actually it ahs two inputs for error shaping , how i can detect this? or do you advice me using another components?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Similar to the case described, I am using  Pure Path (portable audio) v 5.95 rev 17483 libirary build 6184 , I'm using TLVAIC3254 codec with miniDSP,

My application uses the ANC (Active noise canceller). In the configuration window the data of such component is:

    ComponentName: DualMic_NC_Front

    ComponentRevision: 0

    ComponentVersion :DualMic_NC_Front_TI_v2

    InstanceId: ANC

__ My problem: in the document : 7360.Dual Microphone Noise Cancellation, there is some instructions to tune the ANC.

In the SW there are 6 parameters and in the application 7360 there are 8.

    Tha sw missing paramenters are:

    1) Filter1 initial power threshold  (H1Pow_Init_Thresh)   and

    2) Filter2 initial power threshold  (H2Pow_Init_Thresh)

I am trying to tune the application but stopped with theis problem.

    Thanks in advance
