Follower circuit to fight off over current

Hi,

I heard that it was possible to protect a circuit against overcurrent with a follower circuit with a resistor. Is there anyone who has used this circuit?is is possible to have explanations?

Here the follower with the resistor: (http://neurosciences.tripod.com/images/headst3.gif).

Thank you for your reading.

  • Hi, Gilles,

Most of our amplifier ICs have built-in over-current protection, so I'm afraid we haven't done much with external circuits like this. Maybe some of the other folks here can chime in.

  • Thank you for your answer,

Excuse me, my explanations were not clear. My English isn't good. The goal is to use a follower mode operational amplifier like a protection for another circuit. I heard that the resistor would limit the current ,in  the case there were a over current, but no voltage drop is generated. But I would like more information about it if someone used  a such protection circuit

    Thank you for your reading.
