amplifier input 0-5v to 0-200v output to drive 3nf load

Hi,

Now i want to design a board. The input is 0-5v sine or sawtooth signal and the output is 0-200v.

The load is 3nf capacitive load. The slew rate need over 30v/us and the faster, the better.

Now i'm interested at the audio amplifier LME49830.

But i never use the audio amplifier before. I check the datasheet its power supply can get to 200v max.

What about its output?

Any other suggested amplifier or design?

Hi Jason,

I haven't tried using this IC to drive a 3nF load at those voltages. The following document might help with designing an amplifier.

I am not aware of other high voltage devices within TI to fill your requirements.

What if the load is not 3nf. Just 8ohm, the same as the load in the datasheet of LME49830.

Can the output of the chip can get to 0 to200v?

I want to check if the chip can get this output first and then test it under certain load.

Hi Jason,

Yes, you can configure the IC as a high-voltage op amp and run up to 200V. The ouptut current will be limited to about 50mA, so driving an 8 ohm load won't work, but a high impedance load like 5k or more will be fine. You can use Figure 3 in the datasheet as your test circuit.

A finished amplifier will be able to drive a capacitor, I just haven't verified to what value.
