AIC3204 DAC audio clipping

I am using AIC3204 as DAC with gain settings of HPL and HPR ( 0x30, 0x10, 0x00) ( 0x30, 0x11, 0x00)

The problem is that my sound is clipping at some of the parts (at random interval, probability where the amplitude of sound is more).

I provided some other values of gain also, but the clipping didn't stop.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Sam,

Did you try lowering the gain until you could not hear the audio signal anymore? Did the clipping stop at any point?
your audio source could have distortion in it - I would try several audio sources and compare them.

Hi Nate Thank you for your prompt reply.

i tried the lowest value of gain but the output is same as of on 0 db.

The sound file is pure without any distortion.

while playing the sine wave it provides perfect sound as expected but with other files this is the common problem.

I have find the solution.

It was the problem of modes...

I was using the I2S justified but the data was little Endian.. SO when i changed it to Right justified.. It worked perfectly.
