CC8530 and external I2C devices

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8530

Hi

I have a list of questions i am hopping can be answered.

Is it possible for the CC8530 to communicate with any I2C device?

Also, when I2C data is received by CC8530 does it generate an interrupt output to the host MCU indicating I2C data has been received?

I need to send I2C commands over the CC8530 wireless link in both directions. Does I2C data enter and leave the CC8503 nodes in a normal I2C  wire bus way?

Is there any diagrams showing how I2C control data is sent with the I2S audio data?

Can I2C data pass through the CC8530 transparently?

Thanks in advance

David

  • Hi David,

The I2C interface is used to control external audio devices only. We do not support slave mode nor the ability to transfer I2C commands over the wireless link.
If you have a host MCU in both ends of the link you will get access to a bi-directional data link that is interfaced through the EHIF (SPI) interface. See section 3.4.4 in our extensive user guide for more information (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru250l/swru250l.pdf)

    Best regards,

    Kjetil
