PCM4201 and duty cycle requirements

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM4201

Hello!

We are using the PCM4201 in an industrial application (not audio) and we are experiencing some strange behaviour of the measured data. Searching for the problem I did find out that the SCKI is running at 25 MHz with a duty cycle of 60%. According to the data sheet the valid range is 45-55%.

The ADC is set as follows: normal speed, high performance, master mode, HP filter on.

Can you tell me if I just have to expect a higher quantization noise or if this duty imbalance will generate other troubles?

Best regards, Enrico

  • Hi, Enrico,

Welcome to e2e, and thanks for your interest in our products.

Unfortunately, I don't know what negative effects you will have if you violate the d/s specs. I suggest you try to get your duty cycle within the d/s limits and see if that fixes the issue.
