What determines the minimum load impedance for TPA3130D2?

Dear Sir，

In the datasheet TPA3130D2 page 5, it is said for TPA3130D2 BTL mode the minimum load impedance is 5.6 OHM, for TPA3118D2 is 3.2 OHM.

I wonder what is the difference between TPA3130D2 and TPA3118D2 can determine the minimum load impedance.

If I connect a TPA3130D2 with two 4 OHM loads , it will work OK or NG in theory?

I've applied TPA3130 samples and it will arrive 2 weeks later, I can't do a full test now.

Hi CG,

Each amp is defined with a recommended minimum load impedance so that it can produce the spec'd power levels while within maximum output current limit and thermal boundary, thus the higher minimum for the lower power TPA3130. TPA3130 can still operate with a 4ohm load, just that it may reach those protection limits at lower power levels.
