Device mode configuration on CC85XXD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2590

looking to design a high end wireless audio speaker/headset. The design will consist of a PC that will stream PCM data over USB then out using the CC85xx boards. At the moment I have purchased the CC85XXD which consist of the following boards:

  1.  CC85XX EM Board - http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/swrc080b
  2. CC85XX + CC2590 EM Board - http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/swrc185a

I have yet to get a device mode configuration working though I have added the missing resistors to the CC85XXD where they were absent.

Is there a repository of configuration files that might provide a starting point.  Do you have a link to share?

  • Hi Kuya,

There are no ready configurations for the CC85XXDK in USB mode, however you can make one yourself based on modifications of the CC85XXDK Preloaded demo project. Assume you have set jumper J11 in position 2-3 in addition to adding he R52 and R53 resistors?

Anyway, do not have a modified EB board here so was not able to verify the below, but this is how I would have done things:

    1. Select the CC85XXDK Preloaded Demo project
    2. In the 'Analog Input Master (AIC3101)' panel: Set application role to 'Stereo speaker USB soundcard 2 / 0' and select 'Standard Output' as USB descriptor
    3. Fill out the USB identity in the 'Device Identification' panel
    4. Move the 'Network status LED' to GIO1 or GIO3 in the 'IO Mapping' panel

Have attached the project and configuration files of the modified example. Please put these in your <My Documents>\Texas Instruments\PurePath Wireless Configurator\projects\ folder and restart the configurator.

Hope this works. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can get hold of a board to test this myself.
Oh..and a final thing. Our USB compability matrix can be found in the start page of the configurator. Please check that your OS version is supported.

    Regards,
    Kjetil
