I have a prototype board using a TPA3110D2 and I am having problems with it not turning on.  I am using a circuit that is on page 21 odf the data sheet which is an amplifier with PBTL output and single-ended input.  I have a 1 V p-p signal coming into the input but there is not coming out of it.  I try to hook up the eval boiard witha same audio source and speaker everything works fine.  Do you know what could be causing this problem?  I have noticed an interesting think that the audio starts to work briefly when I am turning the power of to my amplifier board.  Does anybody know where I could look to geet to the bottom of this issue.

    Hi Felix,

    I will be happy to review your schematic if you share it with me. A couple of things that you may try -

    1. Check to see if your FBs or inductors have sufficient current ratings so that they do not saturate at peak current.

    2. Remove the filter caps and disconnect the speaker load. Power up the device without audio input (both INP and INN AC coupled to gnd) and see if the amp outputs have valid PWM waveform at 50% duty cycle.

    3.  Make sure that the impedance of your input pins (RINP and RINN) are matched. Please refer to DS page 18 regarding DC Detect.

    4. Check GVDD voltage.

    5. Check the waveform at the outputs (OUTNL,  OUTNR) and see if there is narrow pulses indicating the device trying to recover from over current protection. Assuming the FALUTz and SDz are tied together as shown in the application circuit (DS Fig 38).

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the suggestions but I was able to figure out that there was a grounding issue with the power supply I was using.  I replaced the power supply and everything is working fine.  Thanks again.
