TAS5630B Schematic Review

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL7715A

Hi Guys

I have just started working with the 5630B and im looking to get my schematic reviewed beofre i move onto board layout.

I have attached the PDF of the schematic and could appreciate if an application engineer could look it over and advise any changes.

Many thanks

  • Hi Graeme,

That is the supply level, speaker load impedance, inductor spec, and intended mode of operation? Is there any difference between this and the EVM schematic?

    Thanks.

    reg,

    Paul.

  • Hi Paul,

I took the schematic from the eval board schematic. I believe it should be set to run in Differential-Input BTL With BD Modulation Filter.

PVDD will be 50V and impedance of the drive units will be 6Ω and 8Ω

I have omitted the LED's for Ready,Reset, thermal etc as i dont  need these (amp will be installed in an active speaker)

I also left the reset section as i was going to ask if this needs a reset chip or any ther circuitry rather than what looks to be a switch and transistor.

The amp will be fed from a DSP/DAC combination from Analog Devices which has a 1.76V RMS / 4.96V p-p output

    Many thanks

    Graeme

  • Hi Graeme,

Good job following the EVM schematic. There is no special requirement on the RESET pin just follow the DS digital IO spec for this.

Layout is really the key to a good reliable system. Please try to copy the EVM layout. Also make sure that the inductors meet the DS spec of min 7uH under all conditions.

    reg,

    Paul.

  • Hi Paul

Would the TL7715A be suitable for controlling the reset line? if not do you have a recommendation ?

    Many thanks
