PCM1794A VDD and VCC dependency

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1794A, PCM5102A

Hello,

I'd like to use zero flag feature (together with mute capability) of PCM1794A to turn off my amplifiers and also the analog part of my DAC(analog part of PCM1794A included). Is it possible to turn off/on VCC independently on VDD? Does zero flag feature work with no VCC present?

Best regards,

Jan Petřík

  • Hi, Jan,

The PCM1794A was not designed nor tested for operation under these conditions. Please provide both power supplies at all times.

We have a new device, PCM5102A, which is not as high of performance as the PCM1794A, but it does have much lower power dissipation.
