Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM9211, PCM1796
Hello Sir,
In a project working to make a DAC, using PCM9211 to convert digital audio into I2S and PCM1796 to convert I2S data into analog audio...
through my i2c code, PCM9211's register are found coded well on reading back the values, but through same code registers of PCM1796 are set on 0xff instead of values m giving.
I not sure why this happening, giving some detail in brief...
kindly verify where m doing wrong.
PCM9211 Setup is with evm board :-
(i tried same on my board too, issue is same register are codded well but no Dout)
using PCM9211EVM-U board
giving 1KHz digital unbal. signal. via APx515 on RXIN0
checking output on P7 of board but there is no Dout.
using "RXIN0 in MainOutput.txt" script
i checked from either old post, that
"source material copy protected? This might prevent the playback.
Check TXCS2 and RXCS2 in the d/s for more info."
i go through the d/s but its doesn't mention what types of changes it need, is same problem is with me too, if yes then which type of changes it need
or my scripts had any issue.

#this script is for SPDIF-->RXIN0-->DIR-->MainOutput, Record sound from SPDIF to PC through TAS1020
#So
#1, Chose RXIN0 to DIR
#2, Active DIR
#3, chose DIR output as Mainoutput's source.
#Also HW modification
#1, Flying to High Level(3.3V) to make sure U7's output is Hi-Z
#or 2, TAS1020 output logic high on P1.2 I2S enable signal.

attaching the scripts kindly have a look.
another issue is with PCM1796,
basic setup of pcm1796 is:-
1. Slave addr for PCM1976 is 0x4c
2. SDA n SCL lines are on share with PCM9211 with 2.7k pullup registers on 3.3v
pin details:-
1.ZeroL and ZeroR are left blank.
2. Msel is 5.0v (I2C mode)
3. LRCK, DATA, BCK, SCk, are connected to pcm9211's pin no. 18,17,19,20 respectively.
4. Vdd is 3.3v
5. MS and MDI is on gnd.
6. MC n MDO are SCL n SDL.
7. RST gnd.
8. VCC2R, VCC2L, VCC1, are on +5v.
9. AGND3L, AGND2, AGND1 are gnd.
feel free to ask any further information about the design.
