PCM2906 frequency response

Hi,

I'm using a PCM2906C. There is no filtering done on the output, except the DC-blocking capacitor. I did a frequency response measurement using a simple loopback cable:

Computer --> PCM2906C out --> PCM2906C in --> Computer

I noticed some passband ripple and also an early roll-off when using 48kHz sample rate (image attached). With 44 kHz the response looks almost flat. Any idea where this comes from? Is it chip-related or could it be a driver issue?
