TAS1020B - couple questions

Genius 11680 points

Hi,

Couple quick questions about TAS1020B. I'm aware that this part is NRND, but I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light.

1) Why are there 47pF caps on the DP/DM pins in the schematic in the datasheet? These were added at some point because this wasn't always suggested in the datasheet. I'm wondering why they were added.

2) Is there a way to initiate a zero length packet transfer on the TAS1020B USB bus. We tried initiating a zero length transfer by IEPDCNTX1 = 0x00. Is this sufficient to send a zero length packet on the next IN transfer?

Thanks.

  • Nate,

I think the caps are there as a low-pass filter, and I would include them if I were you!

As to ZLP, please search for a recent post on exactly this topic regarding the TAS1020B.  It appears that the TAS1020B was designed before the need for sending ZLP at the application level was envisioned, so there's no clean way to do it, AFAIK.

    Regards,

    Frank
