If the input voltage goes above the positive supply or bellow the negative supply (ground) you will activate the ESD protection diodes and risk damage to the part. Since 1 vrms is already 2.8 Vpp and the supply is 3.3, you should probably use an external divider to keep larger signals safely withing the operating range of the device.
