PCM4202 Application Circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA2505, PCM4202

Hello,

***  This is in hurry, please give me your advice withi 2days... ***

My Customer use PGA2505 and PCM4202 in their audio product Pre-Pro stage.

PGA2505's Vcom is set to AGND. ( as PGA2505 data sheet page 14 Fig15, use AC coupling witth 47uF)

Please let me confirm about PCM4202 Application circuit.

In the sbas290B.pdf  PCM4202 data sheet, page 21 shows the App Circuit of DC couplung, but

no description about AC coupling.

1) Do you think AC coupling  input  circuit  as shown in PGA2505 data sheet Page 14 Fig 15

can be used for PCM4202 application?

2) Customer follows as same as PGA2505 Page 14/Fig15  ( Vcom of PCM4202 left open, AC coupling 47uF,

PGA2505 Vcom=AGND,DC servo=ON),

but DC bias ( in the VINL+, VINL-,,,pin  from GND )is changing 1V ~ 2V depends on input signal level....

Do you think 47uF is too high for AC  coupling?

Sorry to bother you, but best regards

  • Hi, Shibatani-san,

I am working on this with May. Please check with her.

  • Hello Don san

    Thank you for your reply.

    I has checked PGA2505 ~ PCM4202 EVM with May-san. In case PGA2505's Vcom is tied to PCM4202's

EVM, no issue is found with AC coupling.

However, in case PGA2505's Vcom=0V ( in order to get high input signal range to PGA2505),

I had confirmed the issue ( DC-bias is changing)  as same as customer in the EVM.

I hope your confirmation using EVM in the US side.

Thank you and with best regards
