Does TLV320AIC23B "resist" if it gets only MCLK and not LRCK/BCK during some time ?

Hello everybody

I am working on an application using an audio codec, but this application has a particularity. During some periods of time, the DSP may not generate I2S signals BCK and LRCK. Only the MCK signal will remain available.

Problem: my DSP does not support I2S slave mode, it must be master (so the TLV320 can not be used as a clock source).

During our tests, we found two chips which do not resist at all to these specific conditions (they are destroyed if they do not receive the three clocks....). I would like to know if some of you know if the TLV320AIC23B is able to support this ?

Of course there will be no audio but the AIC23B will simply wait for LRCK and BCK. No harm will come...

Excellent. I think I know what will be the chip on the board °-)

(Of course, I was not expecting the TLV320 to generate anything, since the DSP itself will not send any data and any clock signal. But as I saw two different converters going into smoke just because LRCK and BCK signals were missing, I was anxious to know if this behaviour would occur with all codecs on Earth)
