datasidechannel with i22 and digital ios

hi everyone,

how can i transmitt serial data from the master over the datasidechannel and how is it possible to set or get the digital ios from the slaves?

thanks for answers, best regards

hubijo

  • Hi Jonathan,

Have you read about the data side channel in the CC85xx Family USer's guide? http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru250l/swru250l.pdf

Chapter 3.4.4 describes the data side channel in detail. Pleas let me know if you have any further questions.

Itæs possible to map slave GPIOs to master GPIOs (if that is what you want). To do this you go to the master and slave User Interface panel and check so many functions as GPIOs you want to monitor. It is important that you select the same functions on both slave and master. Then you go to the IO Mapping panel and map these functions to the corresponding GPIOs.

    A short example:

If you want the master's GIO2 and GIO4 to reflect the slave's GIO1 and GIO3 you do this:

    • Check for example "Play-Pause" and "Scan next track"  in both the master and slave User Interface panel.
    • In the master's IO Mapping panel you tie "Play-Pause RC output" to GIO2 and "Scan next track RC output" to GIO4.
    • In the slave's IO Mapping panel you tie "Play-Pause RC button" to GIO1 with State functionality (S) and then you tie "Scan next track RC button" to GIO3 with State functionality (S).
When you now toggle GIO1 on the slave GIO2 will automatically be toggled on the master. Same with GIO3 and GIO4 correspondingly.
    Hope I answered your questions.
    Best regards
    Kristoffer
  • Hi kristoffer

thank you for the answer. It means i can map the gios from the master to the slave ands et it as an output or input?

Which pins should i connect to transmit i2c serial data or spi?

    Best regard hubijo

  • Hi Jonathan,

The wireless GPIO transmission is only possible from slave to master. All your questions are answered in the User's guide, but I2C is the SCL (32) and SDA (33) pins. SPI is CSn, SCLK, MOSI and MISO at pins (3-6).
