Computer crashes when connecting TLV320AIC3254EVM-K

When I conect the TLV320AIC3254EVM-k to my computer via USB (the driver loads on 1st connection) my computer crashes. I'm running Windows Vista. If I boot in the safe mode, no problems. Any sugggestions?

Hi Mike,

The firmware that is shipped with the EVM-K is not compatible with Windows Vista. The EVM-U control software includes a firmware upgrade compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 and can be used with the EVM-K. The software can be found here: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tlv320aic3254evm-u.html

The EEPROM Programmer panel has instructions on how to upgrade the firmware using the DFUTEST.exe program located in the USBfirmware directory.
