AIC3254 echo cancellation

Hi all,

I was going to order AIC3254 EVM. The main reasons behind choosing this specific module that it provides Echo cancellation as per notes. I installed PurePath (Portable Audio) 5.95 only to see that there are no Echo cancellation algos. Bit of goggling led me to the result that TI abandoned them sometime in 2013. Is that correct? Can I still use echo cancellation algos somehow? Were they any good? Could anyone recommend any other module which can do that? Or give me a hint?

Hi NS,

First, welcome to the E2E forums!

You are correct in that echo cancellation is no longer supported in our AIC3254 device, you can however, use a C55x DSP with third party software (like http://www.ti.com/devnet/docs/catalog/embeddedsoftwarefulldetails.tsp?productId=545) in conjunction with the CODEC for that functionality.

Hi John,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have looked into your suggested section, but the problem is none of them has an I2S Interface. Or am I wrong? Could you suggest any DSP with I2S Interface which can be used for AEC.

Hi NS,

The C5515 DSP has four I2S interfaces (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c5515.pdf).
