PCM3070 Design problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3070

Dear,

Is possible to used PCM3070 as 2.1 system? LOL and LOR output for satellite speakers and HPR, HPL with lowpass config inside PCM3070 for subwoodfer speaker.

i got some problem when trying to download the software for PCM3070, so i can't answer some question relate PCM3070.

Thanks for Ti forum support.

  • Hi, Phuc An,

Yes, this is indeed possible, and exactly what we did in our TI Designs for a Soundbar. You can find it here.

I just noticed that some of the documents didn't get posted to that folder; all of them are available at RDK-Value-SB. I am working to get the TI Designs section updated.

  • Hi Don,

Thank for your quick support. Actually i have completely review all document in sound-bar folder. The problem in sound-bar design is : Lowpass filter for subwoofer output is "apply"  outside PCM3070. And It's limit with our required. We want to apply all algorithm inside PCM3070.

  • Hi Phuc An,

All the analog outputs pass through the same BQ/processing. Therefore, the low pass filter will be applied to both Line outputs and HP outputs. However, you can use the I2S path for LP filter. For example, use the analog outputs for satellite speakers and the I2S outputs with LP filter for subwoofer speakers (or vice versa). In this case you would have to select an analog input amp (such as TPA311x) and an I2S input amp (TAS57xx).

  • Hi Paul, Happy new year!

Thank for your support, i appreciate that. And your answer is exactly what i'm consider. Therefore, for my required, i need to order sound-bar and another EVM TAS57xx, And use an external I2S output on Sound-bar to connect with EVM TAS57xx. (actually we just want to evaluate the solutions before next design phase).

Thank again to Ti audio support team.
