TPA 3132D2 doesn't work

Dear Friends,

I try to use TPA 3132D2 to design a signal power amplifier, but it doesn't work. The schematic of the circuit was in the following, if anyone know what I have missed in the design, please let me know. Thank you very much.

  • Hi Sunglin,

I'm going to need more information to diagnose the problem. What is the issue exactly? Is there no output? How much current is the device drawing?

Also, what are the inputs and outputs of your system?

What is the status of the faultz pin?

Please provide more information about your system and the issues you are seeing.

    Regards,

    ~John

  • Hi John,

The status of my test was mentioned as follows,

    1.Power supply : DC 19V for PVCC

2.The consumption status of power on (from power supply): DC 19V,  0.045A  (no output signal)

3.The FAULTZ pin is at low level (like GND), I don't know what makes it fault.

If I didn't provide enough information, please let me know. I will check it. Thank you.

  • Hi John,

I upload a picture of my prototype for your reference.  I connected a 1V 100Hz sine ware to INPR and INNR, and monitored the OUTPR and OUTNR pins, but I got nothing and FAULTZ was pulled low.  When I turn on the power, the current meter showed a 300~500mA in the begging, but it downed to 0.045A instantly.  Thank you.

  • Hi John and friends,

The issue has been solved.  The failure is due to the fact that I connected Gnd of the probe to the OUTNL and OUTNR, this pulls the signals of two pins to ground, then the chip protected itself and turn it off.  This is my first time to use a power amplifier so please allow me to make some mistakes in the test.

  • Hi Sunglin,

Glad to hear you solved the problem! Simple mistakes can be the hardest to find.

    Regards,

    ~John
