Power up TPA3132D2 with 12V or 19V will make MSP430 ADC saturation

Dear Friends,

I used two ADCs of MSP430F2619 to monitor the outputs of TPA3132D2, the TPA3132D2 worked fine. The ADCs of MSP430 were saturation at maximum voltage 2.5V when I connected it to a 12V or 19V power source, however, if I connected it to a 5V power source, everything worked as what I expected. Does anyone have the same experience on this issue?

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. What are you connecting to a 5V power source?

Hi Don,

I used a 5V power source to PVCC/AVCC of TPA3132D2. In this case, it work fine. But if I follow the instructions of the datasheet of TPA3132D2, which should use a 19V power source, it makes the ADCs of MSP430 saturation.

How do you connect the monitoring ADC?

Make sure that you use proper voltage divider to scale the output voltage into ADC voltage range. You may also need level shifting circuit to prevent negative voltage into ADC pin.
