Wave distortion of TPA6130A2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6130A2

Hi,All

I was asked about a wave distortion of TPA6130A2 from my customer.

They inputed 1kHz sin wave to it,wave distortion arose as a red sphere of below wave.

I wrote a distortion overly,in fact,THD is approximately 1%.

Is this an essetial characteristic of TPA6130A2?

They set  the RC LPF(18Ω/6800pf) to output.

Cut-off frequency of RC LPF is about 1.3MHz.

Wave amplitude is about 1.2V.

This RC LPF affect a distortion ?

Best regards.

  • Hi, Noda-san,

This does not seem correct. Something is wrong.

I don't think the RC should cause this problem, but maybe you can try removing the cap and see if the THD improves?

Otherwise, it may be a layout issue - can you verify the operation on the EVM?

  • Hi,Don

    Thank you for quick reply.

Despite you replied me quicky,I'm sorry for replying late.

I understood that  there is no essential wave distortion on the TPA6130A.

I requsted  my to see whether there is a difference between the front and the back of cap.

I have been gotten a layout since I post this issue, but it seemed no problem.

Still,I forgot to mention that the terminatin resistance of output is higher ,wave distortion is lower.

    Best regards.

  • Hi, Noda-san,

I am happy that you got it working!
