How to interface PCM1794 to a host processor in I2S slave mode

It seems PCM1794 must operate as I2S slave, while our processor can only support 44.1khz in slave mode. Is it possible to use an external I2S master providing SCK and WS signals to both PCM1794 and our processor ? Is it possible to use PLL1700 for this purpose ? Thx,

I don't believe we've ever verified this combination in the lab, but I suspect it should work.

I've asked my colleague to comment further based on his experience. He might have some other ideas for you to investigate.

If your processor can operate in a slave mode with WS>44.1kHz, this should work. If I understand this correctly, you want to configure the processor as a slave, the PCM1794 as a slave and use the PLL1700 as the master clock source. I'm not familiar with the PLL1700 but the basic idea sounds feasible.

PLL1700 is mentioned in PCM1794A datasheet. Would you recommend another PLL IC ? Thanks,
