PurePath Question: Stream Audio to a specific slave

Good Day!

We have just purchased the Wireless Headset DevKit and the CC85XX DK.  We were able to make the

Devkit the master and the four headsets as slaves.  And we are happy with the result.

Our question now is the following:

1.) Is there is a way to select a specific slave to have the audio streamed?

We were not able to see an option to do that in the configurator.

Is it possible to do the abovementioned scenario?

Hope you could reply soon!

Thank you very much!

William

  • Hi,

the audio from the master will in some sense be streamed to all the connected slaves in a network. It is not possible to e.g. choose to stream to slave 1 and 2 and not to slave 3 and 4 when they are connected to the master. But you can select which audio to receive for each slaves.

When you configure the master device, you can select which logical channels to use for the audio streaming as below. This is done statically for a network.

On the slave side, you select for each device which of the logical channels, produced by the master, to consume.
This is how you control e.g. a speaker set up with a left and a right speaker, in that case you can have e.g. one mono slave consuming the Front/primary Left channel and one mono slave consuming the Front/primary right channel.

For a slave device in host-controlled mode you can change the logical channels to consume dynamically, and thus select which slaves that will receive the audio at a specific time.

    Best regards,
    Johan
