PCM4202 Datasheet Question

In the electrical characteristics the measured bandwidth for the parameters is from 20Hz to 20kHz, and at the bottom it says the bandwidth is limited by using the Audio precision 22Hz high-pass filter.

I am curious if this will work in an application for frequencies from .1Hz to 20kHz with the high pass filter disabled with the HPFD pin?

More on that, what will the device behave like in the frequency range .1 - 20Hz if that will work?

If this part won't perform well in that lower range is there another ADC that is good for the above bandwidth?

Thank you!

Zach

  • Hi, Zach,

This device was specified, designed, characterized, and tested for audio operation.

If you want to use it outside of the audio band, then you need to fully test it yourself.

Otherwise, TI has a complete line of Precision Data Converters which might be a better fit for your application.
