How to get a balanced output in INA 217 mic preamp?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA1612

The input of the circuit has a balanced input but, the output is unbalanced. I would like to know what circuit i have to add for get a balanced output

thanks

  • Hello Andres,

If I understand your application correctly, you're trying to buffer a differential signal.  If so, perhaps you could use the OPA1612 (low noise, dual op amp).  They could be configured as inverting and non-inverting amplifiers.

I'm going to move this post to the audio forum in case they have any input as well.

  • Hello Pete

I have been reading about tube mic preamps, all of them use input and output transformers, but i have also seen transistor mic preamps and the designer also use input and output trnasformers, check this note please about a solid state mic preamp, these preamp has a balanced output

  • Hello Andres,

Thanks for the useful information.  Yes, it looks like they used T2 to create their balanced output.
