TLV320DAC3100 Calc master clock

I was wondering if there is a tool to calculate the Masterclock for the Audio CODEC, couldn’t find one on TI's webpage.

In the Datasheet I only could find examples for 44.1kHz and 48kHz, and the calculation of those don’t make sense to me. I was looking for 128kHz/192kHz sample rates?

Any help would be appreciated.

  • You can use the clock calculator of the attached GUI. Choose File->New EVM Simulation... and select the DAC3100.

    Select View->Digital Setup...

    Enter the input clock frequency (either MCLK or your PLL input clock) and your desired sampling rate and click Advanced...

    This will show you the clock tree. If the program could find PLL values to support the sampling rate, it'll fill in the values for the PLL, NDAC, MDAC and DOSR.

    You can experiment with different values and the program will calculate the sampling rate.
