TAS5717 schematic setup for mono operation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760M, TAS5760L

Hi,

I wish to know if there are recommended connections to drive only a speaker on OUT_A, OUT_B.

I guess I have to connect pull-down HPR_IN, HPL_IN  to GND.

Can I avoid to connect the charge pump capacitor on CPP CPN ?

Can I leave OUT_C, OUT_D, BST_C, BST_D floating ?

Is there the possibility to make a parallel BTL sending the same audio stream on left and right channels

or this can damage the output stages?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi, Matteo,

Welcome to e2e, and thanks for your interest in our products.

You need to populate BST_C and _D and connect 1 uF or similar bypass caps to the C and D channel power supply pins.

You don't need to populate the charge pump components as long as you hold the HP amp in shutdown.

This device does not have a dedicated PBTL mode. You can parallel the outputs after the filter, but not before it.

It seems like you are not using much of the functionality of this device. Have you looked at one of our newer devices like TAS5760M? or TAS5760L?
