Hi,
Is the loudness algorithm of TAS5538 and TAS3103 same?
When we suggested the ALE tool to our customer, we have obtained this question from him.
Could you please advise us about it?
Best Regards,
Kato

Hi, Kato-san,
I've asked my colleague to work with you on this issue.

Hi, Kato-san,
Do you have the ALE5.2 attached? You can use the loudness design tool for TAS5508 and TAS5538.
reg,
Paul.
Hi Paul-san,
Thank you for your reply.
I have obtained the ALE5.2 tools from your team.
So, our customer would like to know the difference between TAS5538 and TAS3103 regarding the loudness algorithm.
Could you please confirm it again?
Best Regards,
Kato
Hi Kato-san:
Both TAS5538 and TAS3103 loudness functions are volume based so the algorithms are the same. You can compare the loudness equations in the data sheets and they are the same. Even the formats for volume, gain and offset are the same.
The only difference is that in the TAS5538, the loudness biquads have default values. For TAS3103, the customer needs to define these values. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Tuan
Hi Tuan-san,
Thank you for explaining so politely.
I understood that these loudness algorithm are same.
In addition, could you please give me your advice if you know as below?
