PurePath Wireless Configurator - Audio Device Customization - Configuration Sequence

Does anyone know of a 'list' of commands available to generate a series of I2C commands for a new audio device?  The recommendation has been to start with an existing device and edit the file (.xml) directly.  While that is one approach, actually understanding what commands are available from within the Configurator would be helpful.  The included help file is lacking in this area.

  • Hi Kevin,

If you open the Configurator Help, either from the Help menu for the PPW Configurator or just by pressing F1 inside the configurator, you can find a section about the audio device definition files, search for "Audio Device Definition Files" using the Look for feature. You can also take a look at the section about the "Audio Device Customization Panel". I think that these sections will give you a good start.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Johan,

Thank you for your comments.  What I learned in an email received today was that the exact same commands I had been attempting to use that generated a series of syntax errors worked after first selecting the "Set all sequences to default" was selected and then erasing the 'default' entry and replacing it with the identical commands that had previously failed.  This unknown 'trick' has resolved the syntax error that I was encountering.

I am now proceeding with building my configuration.

    Thanks again,

    Kevin

  • Hello Johan,

I am familiar with the help function and in fact downloaded all the pages for the Audio Device Definition section and made a searchable PDF from them.  What I find 'missing' is much, if any information on 'editing' an existing ppwadd file, which I understand to be both the recommended and virtually only method for creating a new audio device.  Since this is an .xml based file, it is easy enough to read, but there seems to be a presumption that one already 'knows' what each of the fields mean and control.  While the text does hint at some of the functionality, there seems to be no document which describes it in detail for areas like what is essential, what can be eliminated and the syntax requirements.

This aspect of the process seems to have some holes in the documentation.  Perhaps there is something I am missing, but at each step of the process, I run into unanswered questions and would like to be able to proceed without so much 'hand holding' which as of now, I can't seem to avoid.

Again, I thank you for your help and will proceed with this task and just ask questions at each next step.

    Best regards,

    Kevin

  • Kevin,

The configurator help files and the CC85xx User Guide needs to be referenced and to some extent understood for this job. Glancing at some of the already provided ppwadd files is also helpful.

The syntax requirements are there and the content will depend on the audio device you want to control.

Feel free to ask here if you are stuck or need further descriptions.
