TAS5760M Control Procedure of Mute Operation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760M

Hi,

SPK_SLEEP/ADR pin should be pulled to high before pulling SPK_SD pin to high in the hardware control mode.
On the other hand, this device should be muted to avoid an audible artifact if it returns from shut-down in the software control mode.
So, does this mute operation mean either of the sleep mode(0x01 Sleep Mode[1]) and the volume control(0x03 Mute Righ/Left Channel[1:0])?

Best Regards,
Kato

  • Hi,

Since we have TAS5760M evm and the audio precision, I got cooperation to your local office FAE and evaluated it in your local office.
The oscilloscope waveform that we got in the software control mode is as below.
It seems that the outputs forcibly were muted for about 30ms after returning from sleep mode, then automatically were performed the volume ramp up and the volume ramp up operation occurred based upon the volume fade function.
I believe that it is not necessary to set the mute of L/R channel(0x03 Mute Righ/Left Channel[1:0]) when using the volume fade function.
Could you please give me your advice if I have any misunderstanding?

Return from Sleep Mode(ch1:OUTA+, ch2:OUTA-, input signal:1kHz, L/R channel are not mute, speaker amps are not shut-down)

    Best Regards,
