Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask PCM1851A?

<Question1>
Would you tell us how many channels the device can sample (get input date) at the same time?
The datasheet shows that the device can get indicated L channel date and R channel date.
We would like to confirm whether our recognition is correct just in case or not.

<Question2>
When sampling channels is changed(using I2C), does it have limit speed as like acquision time or any regulations?

We need your help.

Hi, Matsumoto-san,

The PCM1851A is designed to convert two channels simultaneously. In front of the ADCs are muxs which allow you to choose one of three different input paths for each channel.

There will be some time required to prevent pops and clicks when changing inputs on the MUX. Since this varies according to the customer's system, and design, the customer must evaluate the time required for their application.

Hi Don San,

We confirm one point.

1. We change input channel using I2C.
2. The device fixes scanning channels.
3. Then the device outputs the date of indicated channel from I2S.

So, about between 2 and 3, is it necessary to wait for some time to acquire fixed data?
And then you said that "there will be some time required to prevent pops and clicks
when changing inputs on the MUX"

If you know recommended vaules, could you tell us theses?

Hi, Matsumoto-San,

Unfortunately, this time is dependent on the customer's system, so I am unable to give you a time.

Please ask your customer to evaluate it in their system.
