PPW's compliance with EN300 328 v1.8.1 question again ....

Hi,

As you probably already know, the EN300 328 v1.8.1 will be applied on 1.1.2015.

http://www.tuv-sud.co.uk/uk-en/press-media-centre/news-archive/recent-developments-regarding-compliance-with-en-300-328-v1.8.1

Do you have any fresh information about Purepath Wireless compatibility with the new standard?

Best regards,

Esa

PS. Adaptation is clearly a system design related item that is the same in all PPW implementations ... so is there really a reason to do the same tests to all designs?

  • Is there any progress on this subject?
Has anybody done testing against this new standard?

    br,

    Esa

  • Hi Esa,

We have certified several of the PPW kits under EN 300 328 1.7.1 as "other type of wide band modulation". As far as I know it should not be a problem to certify under 1.8.1.

The reason for certifying as "other type of wide band modulation" was because PPW did not fulfill the FHSS requirements in 1.7.1. This may not be the case in 1.8.1, and if you could certify as FHSS you will not be limited by the 10 dBm / Mhz requirement in chapter 4.3.2.

    Cheers,

    Fredrik
