Hi,
In TAS5760 D/S, There is a 470uF bulk cap is put at PVDD.
Are there any good ways to reduce the bulk capacitance?
(for example, change the capacitance type , etc...)
Thanks,
Go

Hi, Go,
The capacitance depends on many factors in the customer's system: output power level, load resistance, audio performance goals, power supply stiffness, etc, etc.
Due to the many interactions, it is not possible for us to recommend a capacitor. You have to select is based on your needs, and test in your system to see that your needs are met.
The amplifier itself can use a much smaller value under some conditions.

Hi, d2
Thanks for your prompt support.
so, if we use 470uF input bulk cap, we can cover the whole recommended operation conditions
described in D/S, is it right?
ans do you have any fomula to calculate input bulk capacitance requirements?
Thanks

Hi, Go,
Yes, the d/s plots were made using the EVM, which has the 470 uF cap on it.
As for the formula, it's I = C * dv/dt where I is the current drawn from the supply, and dv/dt is the acceptable ripple in the application (based on the performance requirements and the psrr of the device).

Hi, d2
Thank you for your support.
Please let me ask one more thing.
you said that the d/s plots were made using the EVM,
How about the ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS?
Was it also measured with the environment which has the 470 uF input bulk cap?.
Thanks,
Go
