MCLK for TLV320AIC3120 slave AIC

1. We don't suggest do it like this:

 It may casue some asynchronous problems adn will have some bad samples.

2.If your GSM have to do master,we suggest do it like this:

3.Cocdec is slave ,then you may don't need MCLK,just enable the PLL and use the BCLK to gengerate all the clk the codec needs.Then you can connect the MCLK to GND.

Thanks for fast response,

but my problem is that BCLK is fixed to 256kHz (fs=8kHz x 2x16bits) and cannot be changed. Also master function GSM cannot be changed. AIC Minimal PLL input frequency is 512KHz. I cannot get another clock from GSM modem to be frequency related to WCLK,BCLK and satisfied PLL input condition. Is there any possibility to use AIC3120 in this application? If using of independent MCLK (with XTAL accuracy) is it possible or impossible ?

But I am sorry I don't notice PLL_ClKIN is 512Khz-20Mhz.It seems 256hz BCLK is too slow for the PLL.

Independent MCLK will be asynchronous with BCLK ,it will cause skipped or repeated samples.Then you will hear audible noise. It will still work. But we don't recomend.
