Puzzling requirement: TPA3111D1 AVCC pin 14 resistor

In figure 17 of the datasheet we see that there is a 100k resistor from the analog supply to pin 14 called AVCC. This is puzzling because pin 7 is also called AVCC, yet it gets analog supply directly. Why are two pins with the same name not treated the same way?

Hi Scott,

Pin 14 and Pin 7 has the same name but different ESD protection structures. Pin 14 ESD structure is edge rate sensitive and needs the 100K ohms resistor to limit the current if the supply ramp rate is over the spec limit.

Thanks for clarifying that. I propose that the next rev. of the datasheet be more explicit about the difference instead of implying it in a footnote to a FIgure.
