Hi,

Can anyone help me for my below query.

We are using TLV32AIC23B for one of our project .

Here our sampling rate is 128 kbps (16 bit X 8 Kbps) for recording. We are using A/u law for data compression.

Please let us know the following

1. Weather TLV32AIC23B will support for 8 bit X 8 Kbps sampling rate.

2. Is there any way to play, " A/u law compressed data with .wav extension" by using windows media player.

We are looking to store and the audio files with 64 kbps sampling rate, Please suggest us the solution for the same.

Hi Uma,

I would recommend looking at a newer CODEC. The AIC23B is very old and doesn't have much flexibility. You might want to look at the AIC3104 or the AIC3204.

1. both the AIC3104 and the AIC3204 will support 8K sample rate. They would process 8 bit data as 16 bit data with appended 0's.

2. Not sure about this. i would check with some of the software vendors such as Goldwave, Audacity, Cakewalk, etc...
