Question TAS5630B Configurations

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5630B, TAS5624A, TAS5630

Hello,

I was looking into the possibility of making a single PCB for TAS5630B and be able to use it as 4 x SE, 2 x BTL or 2 x SE + 1 x BTL channels.

One way would be to stuff/ unstuff components and change the mode settings accordingly.

Can I hardwire the amplifier as 4 x SE and use any two channels as BTL by giving out of phase signal inputs to those channels? Will the dc bias given in SE mode cancel out when used with another channel configured in SE mode? Will such a connection be recommended?

If yes, what needs to be the output inductor value when used as BTL o/p?

Thanks in advance and regards,

Ravindra.

  • Hi, Ravindra,

How about TAS5624A PWM input? They have better SE pop performance than TAS5630.

  • Hello Paul,

My audio processor has analog outputs only. POP is not an issue. I can control it using o/p relays that my host controller can drive/ sequence.

If we can use SE mode of TAS5630B for BTL o/p, then I can only stock one o/p power inductor value. BIG plus!!

Can TI run some tests to check SE mode of TAS5630B for BTL o/p by giving complementary input signals? It would be great if you can optimize some of the values to make it work. Thanks!!

    Thanks,

    Ravindra.
