TPA2001D1 / Output power in TA=-20～60℃

Hi,
 
My customer concerns if TPA2001D1 is capable of 1W output in Ta=-20～60℃.
The datasheet shows 1W(TYP) in Ta=25℃ only, so I believe it is incapable.
Is my understanding correct?
Could you please give me your advice about this inquiry?

    Hi, Yaita-san,

    This is a VERY old device. I suggest you look at one of our newer devices like TPA2010D1 or TPA2011D1.

    To answer your question, the device's output power is limited by the power dissipation and junction temperature rise. You need to calculate the power dissipation and then use the thermal resistance to calculate the junction temperature. If it's below 150C, then you are ok, if it exceeds 150C, then you will trip the thermal protection.

    I will recommend the newer device as you mentioned.
     
    By the way, how do I estimate power dissipation of TPA2001D1?
    I aplologize for basic question...however, is it possible to estimate from a certain value in datasheet?

    Hi Don-san,
     
    I heard supply current of TPA2001D1 is 320mA@5V when 1W output(RL=8Ω, TA=25℃) from my customer.
    So, I try to estimate if TPA2001D1 can output 1W in TA=60℃ as following. 
     
    Pd=Ps-Po
        =(320mA x 5V) - 1W
        =600mW ------(1)
    -----------------------------
    Pd: power dissipation
    Ps: supply power 
    Po: output power
    -----------------------------
     
    According to datasheet, dissipation rating of TA=60℃ is 557mW ------(2)
    *774mW - {(60℃ - 25℃) x 6.19mW/℃}=557mW
     
     
    It seems (1)>(2), so I think TPA2001D1 can't output 1W in TA=60℃.
    Is my understanding correct?
