Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DIR9001
Dear TI audio IC designers,
We need in DIR9001 Digital Audio Interface Receiver additional information:
The DIR9001 datasheet (firstly) recommends to use for the PLL filter FILM capacitors (C1, C2 on the page 15, Fig.8, Table 5 datasheet).
But as it is stated there the CERAMICS are recommended too (later on the text).
QUESTIONS:
1 What (and how much) the DIR9001 performance parameters will be degraded if the PLL filter ceramic capacitors (0805 SMD size, 5%, NPO or COG) are used instead the film types?
2. It is absolutely required that the XTI (pin 8) to be connected to GND in our DIR9001 PLL mode used only?
3. What will be on the SCKO, BCKO, LRCKO DIR9001 outputs when the PLL MODE selected (CKSEL=LOW) and no input S/PDIF data is applied?
Our DIR9001 application design details:
The input S/PDIF interface – optical.
DIR9001 operation mode: PLL MODE (as per table 2 datasheet, CKSEL=LOW) only.
DIR9001 clock source – PLL source.
The PLL system clock is 256*Fs.
The sampling clock is 44.1kHz.
16-bit, MSB-first, right-justified data format is selected.
FMT0=L, FMT1=0,
PSCK0=H,
PSCK1=L.
Sincerely,
Alexander M.
