TAS5624A Settings of fs for EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5624A, TAS5538

Hi,

Should the current rate be selected by users for the input audio data when using TAS5624A evm as below although TAS5538 can perform the automatic bank switching?

Best Regards,
Kato

  • Hello Kato-san:

Let me check on this and get back with you.

  • Hi Tuan-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I am looking forward to your response.

  • Hi Tuan-san,

I have evaluated TAS5624A evm and have verified the operations when the sampling rate of the input audio source is changed.
As a result, this device was detected the sampling rate for 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz and 96kHz.
For 192kHz, I could not verify it depending on the specification of the AP.
Are the initial settings of the gui provided the automatic bank switching?
The valid value could be displayed if the address of 0x00 was read.

    Best Regards,
    Kato

  • Hello Kato-san:

    1.  Sorry for the late response.  I actually was looking for the reason that one would choose a specific sampling rate and use manual mode to choose this rate.  I could not find the setting that will put you in manual mode sample rate select.  The GUI allows you to manually set the sampling rate (Fs).  That is why you can select the sampling rate.  But since there is an internal oscillator, the device automatically detects this sampling rate for you.   At the system level, one wouldn't want to manually select the Fs. The reason to select the manual sampling rate is now not the question.

    2.  You're actuall asking if you need to select the Fs in the GUI for the device to work with automatic bank switch.  The answer is no.  The device has auto Fs select.

    3.  Does the GUI setup automatic bank switching?  No, the GUI doesn't.  You'll have to create a configuration file or wirte I2C scripts/commands to do automatic bank switching.

    Best regards,

    Tuan

  • Hi Tuan-san,

    I understood.
