TLV320DAC3101 Class-D Amp reset

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320DAC3101

Hello,

I am using a TLV320DAC3101 to drive speakers. At high audio level the speakers shut off due to the short circuit detection in the IC. I tried setting Page 1 Register 32 (0x20) bits 6 and 7 to a "1" but this did not allow the speakers to continue (and the volume was turned down). Do I need to set these bits low first then set them high to cause the amplifier reset?

From the datasheet:

"Second, a dedicated speaker power-stage reset can be used that keeps all of the other

device settings. The speaker power-stage reset is done by setting page 1 / register 32, bit D7 for SPLP

and SPLM and by setting page 1 / register 32, bit D6 for SPRP and SPRM. If the fault condition has been

removed, then the device returns to normal operation."

Thank you,

Erik
