Hi Team,

My customer considers to use TPA3116D2 for haptics application and he would like to change switching frequency during normal operation.

Is it possible to change the value of AM[2:0] in real-time?

Yes it can be changed in real time. I'd recommend muting the amp before change to minimize potential noise.

Is it possible to confirm internal switching frequency at SYNC output in master mode?

(Is the frequency of SYNC output same as internal switching frequency?)

Kensuke-san,

The SYNC freq is 100KHz in the master mode.

In the slave more, the freq input to the SYNC need to be 100KHz too.

I understood the SYNC freq is 100kHz in master mode regardless of the value of AM[2:0].

By the way, how do we confirm the internal switching frequency?

I heard that my customer changed the value of AM[2:0] but output waveform seems the same.

Yaita-san,

Internal freq is 100KHz. PLL is used to generate higher freq such as 400KHz, 500KHz etc. When you change the AM pins, the OUTPUT PWM freq will change accordingly.
