Hi,

I'm currently trying to get a TLV320AIC3100 up and running on my AM335x system. I'm struggling to get it going in Linux even though my setup seems correct.

To debug the interface I tried manually setting some of the registers through u-boot's i2c commands and I seem to have spotted a problem, any write I do to the first 15 registers (ignoring reserved registers) doesn't seem to have any effect! I also noticed that the reset values of the resisters seem to be off, see below a read of the first 32 registers.

Any ideas what could be happening here?

The register contents are not correct. I would probe the I2C bus with a scope. Does that system have more than one I2C bus? Are you sure you read/write from the AIC3100 and not another device?

I checked the device with a logic analyser and the data going back and forth looks valid. I had guessed that there was something wrong as the register values don't match the reset values. I'm defiantly reading from the AIC3100 as I can change page addresses and read back other page values (these are also incorrect). Could the IC be damaged or is there something else that could cause this behaviour?

If those are the values that the AIC reports back then there's something fundamentally wrong. Please check all supply voltages and make sure to reset the device properly after supplies are stable.
